It only took a decade

While Beorn worked at IKEA he had access to all kinds of free stuff... left over paint being one of our favorites.  A couple times he brought me home "dead" plants.  I still have them.  One was an orchid.  It had finished blooming and so was a waste as far as retail.  I'd been having some success with reblooming orchids so I was excited for a non-phalaenopisis to try.

The years passed. It stayed alive.  More years passed.  But never bloomed.

....UNTIL NOW!

You see... the best way to identify some orchids is by their flowers.  And without knowing the type of orchid it's hard to give it the special conditions it needs to bloom.  So I'm not sure what I did... but we have flowers finally.

When I first noticed the flower stalk.

Flowers starting.

In full bloom.
