This year we had a yummy dinner with friends and then we all went to do the Christmas Eve program.
A couple years ago we changed our Christmas Eve traditions to include doing a program for the Assisted Living residents across the street. This year the stars finally aligned and we got the program we were hoping for - we were all well and our friends, the Stallards, were almost all well - so we had a real nativity, with narration, costumes, musical numbers... and the funny mishaps that make these things so precious. (During my friend Lynn's beautiful solo, Bucket accidently unplugged the electric piano and I was no longer accompanying her. Luckily she is an accomplished performer and didn't even pause - she just sang alone until the piano was plugged in, booted up, and could play again.) It was a fun night and I think the residents really enjoyed it.

Afterwards, we went back home to open our jammies and watch Christmas Eve on Sesame Street.
Aunt Nancy donated the cute fabric for the kids' jammies.
