W won 3rd place in his age group for Visual Arts. He did an acrylic painting of a bird in polluted water - the world would be better without pollution. He did a great job! He paints like me - using a picture as reference and changing things as needed. He added the bird, a second water fall and some pine trees, including one dead one. I can't wait to see what he does as he gets older.
Bucket won 1st place for his Visual Arts group (special artist) and will be moving on to the Region level. He did a drawing of a boy sitting at an easel, drawing. All around him are his art creations come to life, while one is peeling off the canvas as the boy draws. They are all from Bucket's vast cast of characters. He said the world would be a better place if imaginary things were real - then no one would be lonely. Coming from this special boy, that's a little heart breaking. He wishes his creations could come to life so he would have friends. :( I'm so glad he received this recognition.
