The bee whisperer

My youngest child has many talents.  Among those is bee whispering.  She has had this "unhealthy" love of bees (and all insects) for several years.  It started with her catching flies.  It isn't quite a Mr. Miyagi grab the fly with chop sticks, but it's pretty amazing.  She can walk up to a fly on the window and grab it, hold it in her hand and take it outside.  She also likes to talk to and pet the honey bees and bumble bees in the yard  (she knows not to trust the hornets and wasps).

She just reaches out and touches them.

At first, I thought for sure she would get stung, but now I figure the bees can read her energy, that she has no desire to hurt them, and she's pretty good at reading them.  She knows which bees are feeling friendly and knows not to push the others.  During our last trip to Thanksgiving Point she was a little put out that she none of the bees would let her pet them.

So, what do you do with an eight-year-old who likes to pet bees?  I guess she needs some bee garb so she can help our neighbor who is a bee-keeper....
