chick update

First, here are the babies, not quite babies any more. We expanded the chicken coop and then gave them their own space, so the older girls won't pick on them. We sent Susie to live with out backdoor neighbors, so we're down to five big chickens.


And now we have three MORE chicks. Beorn found some black Turkens, but like a good boy, didn't buy them until he cleared it with me. By the time we got back to the store... the black ones were gone, so we got a brown Turken, a blond Turken and a blond Polish. Turkens have no feathers on their necks and the Polish has a large crest of feathers on it's head.

Now we wait, and see which of these chicks turns out to be a female. Then, we try to figure out what to do with any males... I just don't think I could eat them after seeing how cute they were as babies...
