W sat on my lap earlier today while I was reading "The Mysterious Island" by Jules Verne. He started reading too, following along with his finger and reading aloud. The comprehension wasn't there, to be sure, but he could read most of the words and he WANTED to read it, even if he didn't understand what was going on. It didn't surprize me when he read "believe" without a pause. We run into that word all the time reading scriptures. But when he sounded out "temperature" and figured it out by himself, I was very impressed. Not bad for a boy who turned four in June.
