Turning Three

Monday was Nini's birthday. She's been counting down the days for months now.

The morning started with opening presents on mom and dad's bed.

In lieu of a birthday party, we invited a friend over to play and have cake.  The two of them had a ton of fun blowing bubbles and playing in the new playhouse.  It was fun to watch to such creative girls interact.

Nini said she wanted a "mountain cake" a "Dora" one. I decided to interpret that as a layer cake. So this lucky girl got a small layer cake, as well as a cake to eat with her friend.

The afternoon was spent doing birthday pictures. She posed so well and took such cute pics, it was hard to stick to my tiny budget.  Later, Grandma came over to join us for cake. And we had hamburgers ("meat sandwiches with cheese and a bun") for her birthday dinner.
